Create Somewhere Beautiful
A Place for More Than Weddings
Mountain views, quiet woods, open lawn, and family-owned Alaska properties can become the backdrop for creative work too.
Gilded Fern welcomes photographers, creators, small businesses, brands, and creative teams for approved photo sessions, content creation, styled shoots, workshops, and collaborations.

Hyer Road offers views toward Pioneer Peak, a large green lawn, the farmhouse, and two quaint bungalows on the same property.
Near Hatcher Pass, Little Susitna Hideaway sits among 40 wooded acres with lawn space and a more secluded cabin setting.
Two Very Different Backdrops
Choose the Gilded Fern setting that fits what you're creating, from an open property with mountain views to a more secluded setting surrounded by Alaska woods.

Have something different in mind? Send Gilded Fern the details of your concept so the appropriate property access and requirements can be confirmed before your session.

Your reserved time needs to include both setup and cleanup, so consider the full scope of your session when determining how much time you'll need at the property.
Most portrait, engagement, branding, and lifestyle sessions are booked in one- to two-hour blocks.
Styled, editorial, or commercial shoots may require three to four hours or more, depending on the project.
How Much Time Will You Need?

Brand Productions & Creative Collaborations
Gilded Fern Estates also welcomes select brand partnerships, creative productions, and vendor collaborations that complement the character and aesthetic of the properties.
Opportunities may include brand and lifestyle photography, product launches and styled campaigns, editorial and seasonal productions, social media content, wedding vendor collaborations, local maker features, influencer partnerships, hospitality and tourism collaborations, and commercial photo or video productions.
Florists, photographers, planners, rental companies, and other wedding professionals may also inquire about collaborative styled shoots.
All collaborations and commercial productions require advance approval. Rates, property access, content usage, group size, equipment, and other production requirements may vary according to the scope of the project.

Planning a Commercial Shoot?
Professional photography, videography, styled shoots, brand photography, advertising campaigns, workshops, content creation, commercial productions, and other business-related uses of the property require prior written approval.
Depending on the nature of the project, additional venue fees, insurance, deposits, or agreements may be required.
The Gilded Fern Estates name, logo, photographs, and branding may not be used for commercial advertising or promotion without permission.
Large equipment, tents, generators, specialty installations, trailers, and similar production items also require approval before being brought onto the property.
Drone photography and videography require prior approval and must comply with applicable laws and regulations.
Before You Reserve Your Date
Creative use of the properties is available by reservation only, and dates are subject to availability. Booking early is recommended, particularly for peak summer and fall dates.
A signed agreement and required deposit are needed to secure your date.
When reaching out about an engagement session, styled shoot, brand project, workshop, or other creative use, include as much of the following as applies to your project:
Your Preferred Date
Property You're Interested In Using
The type of session, shoot, or collab
anticipated number of participants
approximate amount of time needed
Intended use of the photos or content
Equipment or production needs

Create With Care for the Property
Gilded Fern's properties and surrounding natural areas are an important part of the setting. Photography and creative projects should leave buildings, landscaping, furnishings, trees, plants, and natural features as they were found.
Decorations or installations that could cause permanent damage are not permitted. Nails, screws, staples, permanent adhesives, confetti, glitter, and similar materials require prior approval.
Smoking and vaping are not permitted inside any building. Pets or animals participating in a photography session require written approval in advance, with service animals accommodated as required by applicable law.
If your concept involves décor, animals, drones, open flames, large equipment, specialty installations, or anything else outside a typical photo session, include those details with your inquiry so they can be reviewed ahead of time.
